In 1886, the Delaware and Hudson Railroad built this majestic train station on Bridge Street. A symbol of Plattsburgh’s status as the economic and social hub of Northern New York, the structure boasted soaring turrets, stone arched windows and the expensive novelty of electric lighting. In its glory days, this stately gateway to The Lake City welcomed presidential guests Chester A. Arthur, Benjamin Harrison and Ulysses S. Grant. In honor of the history of this building we have named the corporation 1886 LLC.
